Virtual Love

Virtual Love

Project for Thorne Harbour
For this project, I had the pleasure of designing a series of digital assets to promote a virtual get-together for Thorne Harbour Health volunteers during Melbourne's COVID-19 lockdown. The event, hosted by the fabulous drag queens Dolly Diamond and Kerrie, was a much-needed opportunity for connection during a challenging time.
Our Approach

Inspired by the event's virtual format, I used emoji icons as a central theme to capture the emotions and energy of the gathering. Emojis are a fun and expressive way to communicate digitally, so they were the perfect fit for the design. I created a vibrant poster featuring Dolly Diamond and Kerrie as emoji characters, complete with laptops and virtual reality goggles to reflect the online nature of the event.

The design was then adapted for use across social media and email marketing, including an animated Instagram post, Facebook banners, and animated email signature banners to create cohesive branding across all platforms.
The Designs
Thorne Harbour

Thorne Harbour Health, established in 1983 during the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, continues to be a leading voice for the health and wellbeing of the LGBTIQ+ community. Their work extends beyond HIV prevention and care, addressing a broad range of health services to ensure all individuals are treated with dignity. This project was not only creatively fulfilling but also an opportunity to contribute to an organisation whose values I deeply respect.
